Known as Kara's Flowers previously , Maroon 5 was formed in 1994. Through the years , the band has changed members a lot , some came and went , but some stayed , like the lead singer Adam Levine , guitarist Jesse Carmichael , bassist Mickey Madden and lead guitarist James Valentine.
The band reformed as Maroon 5 in 2001 and signed to Octone Records for their first album Songs about Jane released in 2002 which went 4 times platinum in US and peaked at No. 6 on Billboard 200.
The album contained today's featured track which peaked at No. 3 on Billboard Hot 100 and basically was the most valuable one from the album.
